Easy Inventory Replenishment Planning for Mid-size Organizations by DataSelf
San
Jose, CA,
October 26, 2007 –
DataSelf Corporation, a
publisher of business intelligence solutions for mid-size
organizations, has released a solution for inventory replenishment
planning.
“Many
mid-size organizations have a tough time with inventory
management and forecasting. They stock too much inventory for some
items and run short on others,” said DataSelf CEO Joni
Girardi. “Our new module helps them smooth all that
out.”
The solution allows
decision-makers to forecast demand for any item
over any period. Users can choose to predict demand based on past
sales, on sales forecasts from salespeople or customers, on market
trends or even on a blend of metrics.
The solution
integrates current data for inventory on hand, outstanding
purchase orders, outstanding sales orders, forecasted demand and
reorder parameters. For reordering, it can take into account parameters
like minimum quantity on hand, minimum reorder quantity and lead time
per item.
If the solution
determines that any items may run short or become
overstocked, it alerts the user with the details. The system also tells
what day a purchase order should be placed. Users can monitor inventory
by location or by business unit. They can also adjust parameters and
see instantly what effect their adjustments would have in any period.
“It’s
a pretty powerful and user-friendly inventory
replenishment solution” said CEO Girardi.
The complete DataSelf
Business Intelligence solution comes with
templates for over 500 reports and key performance indicators (KPIs)
covering several business areas of mid-sized organizations. Managers
set up reports out of the box and adapt the templates as needed. They
can even build new reports from scratch faster than it takes to eat a
donut. In fact, non-technical users of DataSelf BI find they complete
from 70% to 100% of their reporting needs without help from IT--and in
a fraction of the time required on competing platforms.
Thanks to the
pre-defined reports and KPIs, managers can try out new
metrics they may have only heard of before. Many DataSelf BI clients
have seen an immediate return on their DataSelf BI investment just by
monitoring trends revealed by these reports.
