Permissions

You will be reading SQL data and publishing to DataSelf Web Server (Tableau Server).

1. Your Windows log in user needs reading rights to the SQL view(s) you will be importing from.

2. Your DataSelf Web Server user must have

EITHER

• an Administrator site role (Server Administrator or Site Administrator)

OR

• a Publisher site role and Editor permissions on the Data Sources Project

(Reminder: DataSelf recommends that every DataSelf Web Server project's permissions be set to "Locked to the project..." except for the "Data Sources" project, which should be set to "Managed by the owner...".

This allows each data source to have different permissions.)

You will need to know

• your Web Server user name and password (usually this is your Windows login)
• your Web Server address
