This month, Gartner released its 2020 Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms results and, at DataSelf, we’re excited that the two products we support continue to be in the top right quadrant for Leadership/Visionaries for their completeness of vision and ability to execute: Microsoft Power BI and Tableau.
Power BI is Microsoft’s primary analytics tool, and their vision and execution of this product exemplifies why they’re the top leader in the Magic Quadrant. To their advantage, Power BI looks and feels like Microsoft’s other Office 365 tools, so users have a familiar interface and are up and running quickly. Power BI roadmap is complemented by an extensive stack of Microsoft BI components such as ETL (via MS SQL SP and SSIS), cubes (SSAS), reporting (SSRS), Excel, Power Platform, Microsoft Azure and more.
In our view, Tableau continues to be the leader in ease of visual exploration and data manipulation. For analytics purposes, the solution has unparalleled breadth and depth of features that empower regular business users and data analysts to easily find answers to their business questions. Tableau was acquired by Salesforce.com in 2019, and our understanding is that Salesforce will provide more funds for Tableau’s heavy investment in product development and market reach.
DataSelf enables mid-sized organizations to take full advantage from these two top-ranked Gartner analytics tools by providing a rich set of report and dashboard templates, and reliable and clean data feeds through our MS SQL data warehouse and ETL that easily extract data silos such as Acumatica, Google Analytics, HubSpot, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Quickbooks, Sage, Salesforce.com and many other systems. What’s more, Advanced Analytics by DataSelf can be deployed in less than 15 minutes.
Again, congratulations Microsoft and Tableau! We look forward to many more years of working with you both to provide data-hungry users with all the insights they need to make successful business decisions.
